Dalhart Fire Moto

"Brotherhood First, Duty Always"

The City of Dalhart is served by a 35-member volunteer Fire Department.   The Fire station and apparatus are maintained by the City of Dalhart. Regular Business meetings are held every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Fire Station.

The fire department was founded in 1903 and is currently composed of 35 volunteer members.  The department is a member of the State Firefighters & Fire Marshals Association of Texas. To maintain membership within the department, each member must maintain a certain percentage of calls, drills, and meeting attendance each year to stay on the department.  The department is also a member of the Panhandle Firefighters & Fire Marshals Association. The DVFD provides all emergency needs for the city and surrounding area, as well provides mutual aid assistance to all neighboring communities.

For your own safety, we encourage you to have your house number displayed near your entrance door.  Emergency responders, such as EMS, PD, or Fire department need to identify your address quickly and a number painted on the driveway is difficult to see in the dark and not considered effective by emergency responders.  We also encourage you to have your number displayed in the alley by your gate for utility maintenance.

Our team

Our team consists entirely of volunteer firefighters, ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things. We face emergencies, train tirelessly, and give our time freely, not for recognition, but to keep our community safe. Every alarm answered, every fire fought, and every event we organize reflects the dedication, courage, and pride that define volunteer service.
